Bercuti di Gold Coast, Australia: Pelican Feeding in Labrador.

We reached Charis Seafood Restaurant in Labrador,
Gold Coast at 12:30 pm and had their Fresh Seafood Combo for lunch, sedap!

At this time there were just 4 to 5 pelicans taking a dip at the lagoon nearby.
Then the other pelicans started flying in,
some of them went straight to the lagoon while others landed on trees and lamp posts nearby.

The pelicans seems to read the time well,
at 1:15 pm they started queuing up in front of the restaurant.
By this time there were more than 40 pelicans around the area.
And at 1:30 pm sharp, one of the workers in Charis Seafood Restaurant came out with some big pails containing fish and squids and started feeding the pelicans.

It was really awesome watching these huge birds.
They scolded each other when others tried to jump queue. And if the fish/squid fell on the sand, they grabbed it with their big beak and went to wash it in the lagoon before swallowing them. But some of them were quite impatient too and started climbing on the steps to get closer to the pail which is not very smart since the food will be tossed in the air instead.

My dad had the chance to feed them...well not really feed them by hand,
he had to throw the fish/squid to these pelicans. Every time, he put his hand in the air, the pelicans will stretched their heads to catch it in a synchronized manner, what a view!

These birds were there too, waiting for leftovers.
There were so many of them!
