I miss the long holidays so much. I miss being together with all my siblings and most of all I miss my family trip to Kalumpang, Hulu Selangor last December which I enjoyed very much. Have you guys been there? Oh please do visit this beautiful place, you won’t be disappointed!

Private Resort

I love the serenity and tranquility of the place. We actually went to a private resort which belongs to my grand-uncle. Since it is a private resort, the place is not crowded at all and that made it fun and enjoyable for the whole family. Checkout these awesome photos!

Serene

Tranquil

We sure had a Lot of Fun swimming and playing in the cool water without any disturbance from outsiders. There is a resort nearby, that is, the Kalumpang resort but it was quite a distance away from this private resort.

 The Caretaker’s House

The Guest House

The Fish Pond

 The Swimming Pool.

The swimming pool was empty when we went there due to maintenance work. But it is not a big deal coz we have the rapids to enjoy.

A Pond with beautiful Swans

There is also a small pond with beautiful swans. But I dare not go near it because, I was afraid the swans will chase me. That's what they normally do when they see a stranger right?
And oh, there are orchards at the back of this private resort too! But again, we didn't get to explore the place because we were busy enjoying ourselves in the water!

Unique Landscape

And best of all,
check out the area around this private resort.
If this is not Unique, I don’t know what Is!!

Bubur Butir Nangka - Desert from Kelantan

It was Maulidur Rasul yesterday. I decided to prepare Bubur Butir Nangka for tea. I learned to prepare this desert from my mom. From what I understand, this is a desert from Kelantan. Don’t get misled by the name cos actually there is no nangka (jackfruit) in this bubur. It is called that way because, it looks like butir nangka, that’s all.

It is made of glutinous rice flour mixed with pandan juice.

This is how the dough looks like.

When the dough is ready, we formed it into butir nangka shape like these. This is a bit time consuming dan amat membosankan so you really need to be patient. If all of us are at home, then this will be an easy task cos we will work on this together.
Then it is time to boil these butir nangka. When you first put them in the boiling water they will stay at the bottom.

When they are fully cooked, they will start to pop-up on the surface of the water

These are the fully cooked butir nangka. Nice kan?

Then, it is time to prepare the gravy. I mixed the coconut milk, sugar and a pinch of salt. Then, I added a pinch of fenugreek (halba). This is the difference between bubur butir nangka and any other bubur. The fenugreek add to the aroma and flavor of this bubur butir nangka. But if you do not like it, you can skip this step, I also added a bit of glutinous rice flour to thicken the gravy and

Wallah, it is ready!

Delicious and yummy!

Sentosa Floral Fest 2011 -Singapore

On the first day of Chinese New Year, we visited Singapore to witness the Sentosa Flowers festival on Sentosa Island. Since we have seen so many beautiful photos in the internet covering this event in previous years, our expectation was really high. We were imagining to see lots and lots of flowers, a sea of flowers and flowers everywhere.

So we went to the Sentosa Boardwalk, but we only saw a few display of flowers there. After we reached home, then only we realized that we went to the wrong place. We should have gone to Merlion Plaza and Imbiah instead. That is where the mega display is! Anyway, back to the Board Walk, the place was packed with people. Eventhough, we did not get to see what we wished to see, we had fun just being together.

I managed to take some photos of the flower display at the Board walk.
Here they are:

The flowers are colorful, bright and nicely decorated. The weather was perfect for a fun family outing. Overall the atmosphere was good, BUT, despite all these, I was more amused with the ice-cream that I had.(Tak de kena-mengena dengan floral fest pun!).And I could not agree more:
Ice-cream is Happiness Condensed.
